Surgitrac Instruments UK is introducing a new approach to packaging that delivers improved sustainability, enhanced protection during transit with reduced weight, and continued sterility assurance. These changes reflect a commitment to responsible manufacturing and the delivery of high-quality ophthalmic instruments.
Key Improvements
- Removal of plastic blister packs to reduce single-use plastic
- Sterility indicators added to the outer pouch for quick and clear verification
- Easily removable labels are applied to plain white inner boxes to support full recyclability
- Thicker, more robust inner boxes to minimise damage in transit
- Made-to-measure outer cartons remove the need for foam filler
- White film-coated cartons provide added protection against moisture and handling
- In-house sterilisation reduces transportation requirements and environmental impact

Recycling Made Simple
All cardboard packaging will be recyclable, excluding the applied labels. However, the labels can easily be peeled off, allowing for straightforward recycling through standard channels.
