Surgitrac Instruments, with over 30 years of expertise in ophthalmic innovation, proudly supported the main programme session, “How Cataract Surgery Has Changed,” at the 48th Annual UKISCRS Congress on 28th November. This year’s event was particularly special as it marked the 75th anniversary of the intraocular lens (IOL).

The session, moderated by Dr Vance Thompson, President of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), along with David Lockington and Sathish Srinivasan, and a panel of world-renowned specialists, explored the transformative progress in cataract surgery. It brought together leading experts to discuss the revolutionary advancements that have shaped the field, from pioneering surgical techniques to cutting-edge technologies.
Key presentations included Steve Arshinoff’s lecture on “Endophthalmitis & Intracameral Antibiotics,” Elizabeth Yeu’s discussion on “Lens Materials: Hydrophilic, Hydrophobic, and Others,” and Ken Nischal’s talk on “IOLs in Paediatric Cases.” Dr. Vance Thompson also presented on “The Premium IOL Journey: Expectations and Optimising.”
